The skipper of the boat that capsized in Payagala that resulted in the deaths of 17 individuals has been further remanded till the 27th of March.
The order was issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrates court.
The boat was carrying a group of pilgrims engaged in a religious practice when it capsized around 9.30am on the 19th of February.
The reason for capsize was cited as the boat being ill suited for passenger transportation.
When the case was taken up for hearing today Court ordered the Assistant Superintendent of the Kalutara Police to be present in Court when the case is taken up for hearing next.
