Fast bowler Morne Morkel has been recalled into the South African squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2017 tournament that kicks-off in June.
Morkel, last played an ODI game for South Africa in June last year and was troubled with a bulging disc in his back that kept him out of action for the remainder of the year.
However, Morkel made a successful return in the recently concluded Test series in New Zealand where he picked 11 wickets from four innings.
Left-arm-spinner Keshav Maharaj has been called-up following his successful performances in New Zealand.
Maharaj will be accompanied by Imran Tahir as the only other spinner in the squad.
AB de Villiers will continue to lead the squad despite injury concerns while Quinton de Kock has been backed to recover from a finger injury.
South Africa will begin their campaign with a Group B clash against Sri Lanka on 3rd June at Kennington Oval.
