Ganesan to mediate rift in the NPC

Minister of National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official Languages Mano Ganesan says he is prepared to intervene in order to calm the prevailing political rift which has arisen in the Northern provincial council.

Speaking at an event in Hatton the Minister said the prevailing rift must be solved if development projects in the North are to be strengthened.

Minister Ganesan said as the leader of the Tamil progressive Alliance the rift in the Northern Provincial council must be solved adding that the council must engage in discussions peacefully in order to end this political rift.

He said the Northern Provincial Council was established for development purposes in the North adding that it is unfortunate that such an issue has arisen in the council.

The Minister said as the Minister of National Co-existence he is willing and prepared to travel to the North to mediate between the two sides to hold discussions and solve the matter at hand.
