The second leg of the 2017 Sri Lanka Super Sevens Rugby Tournament got underway at the Racecourse International Rugby Stadium this morning.
The tournament featured 8 franchise teams, 8 schools and four women’s teams.
Mobitel Eagles clinched the opening leg of the tournament which was worked off in Kandy last week while Science College Mt. Lavinia surprised the jubilant Kandy crowd by beating the much fancied Trinity College to become the Cup winners in the 1st leg of the 2nd Sri Lanka Super Sevens Rugby Tournament.
The opening day of the second leg got underway with Eight U-16 school teams competing to book their places in the quarter-final lineup of the Cup segment this morning.
The schools fixtures were followed by the franchise exchanges.
A total of 28 games were worked off before a massive crowd at the Racecourse grounds in Colombo.
