Minister of Law and Order Sagala Ratnayake says the law will be enacted against all those involved in drug rackets regardless of their rank and distinction.

Speaking at a function in Balapitiya yesterday the Minister said the government will not protect any individual guilty of drug smuggling or any other crime.

Minister Sagala Ratnayake noted that Sri Lanka has become a hub for drug racketeers to smuggle narcotics.

The Minister added the government has commenced operations with other countries faced with similar issues to curb the spread of narcotics.

The Minister is of the view that the drug menace will be completely eradicated from the country within the next two years.
