The national cricket team led by Dinesh Chandimal will leave for the United Arab Emirates to take on Pakistan on a full tour next week.

Sri Lanka Cricket issuing a communiqué said the national team will embark on a full tour from the 24th September to the 29th of October.

The Test series will begin on the 28th of in Abu Dhabi before the second Test in Dubai, which will be a day-night encounter.

The Cricket Board said the two Tests will be followed by five ODIs, before two T20Is in Abu Dhabi and the last one in Lahore on the 29th of October, “subject to security clearance”.

International cricket will return to Pakistan after a long gap today when the hosts take on World XI for three T20Is, followed by the return of Sri Lanka, who faced a terror attack on their team bus in March 2009.

International teams stopped visiting Pakistan after the attack on the Sri Lankan team in which seven of its players were injured.

The Test series was originally scheduled to comprise three matches but was reduced to two to accommodate the series against the World XI.
