Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne with scores of 196 and seven in the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan has moved to up nine places to 17th position in the latest ICC Test Player Rankings.
Niroshan Dickwella gained two slots to reach 39th position and all-rounder Dilruwan Perera gained 10 slots to reach 76th position.
Sri Lanka with the 2-0 series win overtook Pakistan to take sixth position in the ICC Test Team Rankings.
Dilruwan Perera also gained in the rankings for Test bowlers, with his eight wickets in Dubai helping him gain three positions to reach 23rd position.
Suranga Lakmal has also gained three places to reach 33rd position.
Pakistan batsman Asad Shafiq, who scored his 11th Test century, gained seven places to reach 28th position while Captain Sarfraz Ahmed gained one place to reach 32nd position.
Pace bowler Wahab Riaz’s five wickets in the match saw him overtake India’s Umesh Yadav to take 24th position.
South Africa pace bowler Kagiso Rabada gained a career-best third position among bowlers in the ICC Test Player Rankings after his player of the match performance against Bangladesh.
Rabada overtook spinners Rangana Herath and Ravichandran Ashwin and is behind second-placed India spinner Ravindra Jadeja and top-ranked James Anderson.
