The Asian Development Bank says it will extend its fullest support to the economic development plans initiated by the government.
The statement was made by ADB Vice President Wencai Zhang when he called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today to discuss the Country Partnership Strategy for development assistance for the period 2018-22.
The ADB has allocated a sum of US$ 4 – 5 billion for Sri Lanka through the Country Partnership Strategy.
Zhang emphasized the need for speeding up the capital market development to enhance economic growth.
The ADB Vice President also underscored the importance of Sri Lanka’s infrastructure development financing mechanism and added that the ADB would provide assistance to infrastructure development.
