The Department of Examinations has issued a set of guidelines for students sitting the 2017 GCE Ordinary Level Examination, including principals and parents.

The statement said the 2017 O/Level Exam is being held under both the old and new syllabi from the 12th to the 21st of December.

The Department said it is compulsory for students to produce their admission card along with a recognised form of identification and to observe the examination details thoroughly.

The Department also said a 5 year ban will be imposed on applicants who attempt to smuggle smart watches, mobile phones and other electronic items into examination centres.

The Exams Department said necessary steps will be taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination without inconveniences by external parties.

Individuals other than students and supervisors will not be permitted to enter examination centres without prior permission.

The Exams Department requested all candidates, teachers, parents and principals to inform the Department of any discrepancies on the hotline 1911 or the School Examination Organizing Branch.

Complaints can also be lodged through with the Police on 119 or 2 421 111.
