Sajin Vaas fined for not declaring his assets


The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has fined former Parliamentarian Sajin Vaas Gunawardena 1,000 rupees after he plead guilty for not declaring his assets.

The order was issued by Magistrate Aruni Atigala this afternoon.

The case was filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of not revealing his assets during 2011 and 2012.

The Magistrate said failure to pay the fine will result in a one year imprisonment.
