The Ceylon Workers’ Congress has decided to contest the upcoming Local Government Election under the United People’s Freedom Alliance.

Accordingly, the Ceylon Workers’ Congress will contest at several Local Governments of the Nuwara Eliya District under the symbol of the Cockerel.

The nominations list for the election was signed by General Secretary of the party Arumugam Thondaman.

Accordingly, the Ceylon Workers’ Congress will contest the election under the UPFA for the Hatton Dickoya – Urban Council and the Maskeliya, Norwood, Kotagala, Agarapathana and the Nuwara Eliya Provincial Council.

However, the Ceylon Workers’ Congress will contest the Ambagamuwa Provincial Council separately under the cockerel symbol.

Additionally, the Ceylon Workers’ Congress said it will contest several other Provincial Councils under the Betel Leaf.
