Exam Dept responds to O/L Maths paper issue


Acting Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha has responded to statements made by certain parties claiming the candidates of the 2017 GCE Ordinary Level Examination faced difficulties when answering the Mathematics paper.

Issuing a statement the acting Commissioner General said a review was carried out by the chief examiners of the panel of experts that set the paper and by a group of mathematics teachers.

Accordingly, the Acting Commissioner General of Examinations said the statements made by certain individuals over the matter are baseless.

The Acting Commissioner General said the marking scheme will be amended for questions which were included aiming high skill level.

Accordingly, he also said the Department of Examinations will ensure to be fair to all candidates when marking the Mathematics paper.
