2017 GCE A/L Exam results released

The results of the 2017 GCE Advanced Level Examination have been released.

Accordingly results may be obtained by visiting the Examination Departments official website www.doenets.lk

The Department noted results for schools in Colombo and Sri Jayewardenepura may be collected by their respective Principals from the Department itself, whilst results for all other schools will be dispatched via post.

Meanwhile according to 2017 A/L Exam results – 163,104 students have qualified to apply for university admission.

In the Biology stream Dilini Sandunika (Sujatha Vidyalaya Matara) got the best results in the island while Hasitha Geeth (Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa) came second and I. Shaluka (Ananada College Colombo) came third.

S. Duwakaran (Hartley College Point Pedro) got the island best results in the Mathematics stream with P.Himan (B’nayake College Gampaha) coming second and J. Paul (St. Patrick’s College, Jaffna) coming third.

Dilini Rasanthika (Sujatha Vidyalaya Matara) scored island best results in the Commerce stream while K. Subashini (Musaeus College Colombo) and Fathima Akeela (St. Pauls Colombo 5) got the second and third best results respectively.

Ven. Munidawansha (Saddarmalankara Piriwena Ratnapura) came first in the island in the Arts stream with Saheli Aachna (CMS Balika Colombo) and Dilki Sandumpama (Ferguson Ratnapura) achieving second and third best results in the island.

Furthermore the results of 205 students have been suspended.

The Commissioner General of Examinations stated the final date to submit applications for re-evaluation of exam papers has been set for the 15th of January 2018.

The GCE A/Level Examination was held from the 8th of August to the 2nd of September with 315,227 applicants including 260 special applicants sitting the exam at 2,230 examination centres Island wide.

Meanwhile the Department of Examinations announced that the results of private applicants will be posted within the day.

According to the new mechanism introduced by Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination results will be release annually on the 5th of October, GCE Ordinary Level Examination results on the 28th of March and the GCE Advanced Level Examination results on the 28th of December.
