Another suspect in the murder of Vidya Sivaloganathan of Punguduthivu, has been issued a three month sentence.

The Kayts District Court today issued a three month sentence and a fine of 18,000 rupees for the owner of the van which was used to kidnap Vidya Sivaloganathan in Jaffna. The suspect, has reportedly rented the vehicles to the individuals accused of the murder.

NewsRadio Court correspondent said the individual could not be presented before court previously as he was overseas. Upon his arrival the Police took steps to produce him before Court.

Our correspondent said, individual was not charged for aiding and abetting but was accused only of renting a vehicle to the perpetrators.

The 17-year-old schoolgirl Vidya Sivaloganathan was abducted, raped and murdered by a gang in May 2015.
