Six individuals including former Navy Media Spokesman Commodore DKP Dassanayake who were arrested and remanded on charges of assisting and issuing instructions for the abduction and disappearance of several persons, have been granted bail.

The suspects were released upon the completion of bail conditions issued by Court. Accordingly Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered to release the suspects on a 100,000 rupee bail each and three surety bails of 1 million rupees each.

Meanwhile the attorney representing the suspects informed the Court that the relevant bail conditions have been met by the suspects.

Commodore Dassanayake and the suspects was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department in July 2017 on charges of assisting and issuing instructions for the abduction and disappearance of the 11 youth between the years 2008 and 2009 in Colombo.
