“32 JO MPs cited in PRECIFAC report”

Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama says 32 parliamentarians representing the so-called joint opposition have been cited in the recent report compiled by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges.

Speaking at an event in Balapitiya Deputy Minister Muthuhettigama said action will be taken against those cited in the report.

He said, “We are not divided. Only Mahinda Rajapaksha is working against our party. He is the patron of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. However he is dividing our party. President Maithripala Sirisena is the Chairman of the party but Mahinda Rajapaksha remains one of our leader. However he is backing the GL Peries-led party. He spoke against our party during a recent rally in Kadawatha. However we have the backing of the party activists and massive crowds gathered during the Anuradhapura rally. Meanwhile, 32 member of the Joint Opposition has been cited in the PRECIFAC report. Action will be taken against them. It will be done in the coming days. We will remain in power until 2020 and we will provide decentralised funds to Pradeshiya Sabha.”
