UNP to take new path if coalition Govt is rejected

Minister Lakshman Kiriella says the United National Party is prepared to take a new path if it’s rejected by anyone within the coalition government.

Speaking to media in Kandy, Minister Kiriella said the future of the party will be decided on the results of the Local Government Election held on the 10th of February.

The Minister said President Maithripala Sirisena was elected into his post due to the UNP adding that the UNP has the majority in Parliament as well.

Minister Kiriella said the UNP is prepared to continue the coalition government, however adding that it will take a new path if the coalition government is rejected by the people.
