A group of backbenchers of the United National Party are due to meet President Maithripala Sirisena this evening.

Speaking to NewsRadio UNP Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil said they hope to discuss the future political affairs.

A group of backbenchers of the UNP this morning met with party leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Temple Trees this morning.

The meeting mainly focused on the results of the 2018 Local Authority Election and the party’s’ future plans.

Meanwhile the leaders of the United National Front also held a meeting yesterday Chaired by the Prime Minister.

Furthermore a special discussion between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe took place last night at the President’s official residence.
