Air Force down CH 39-22 for maiden win

Sri Lanka Air Force recorded its maiden win of the 2019/2020 Inter-Club Rugby League season after beating CH & FC 39-22 in a closely fought encounter in Ratmalana this evening.
Air Force planted five tries against the faltering CH unit to register a bonus point win while the Rohitha Rajapaksa-led team could only muster three tries and a penalty.
At half-time, the Airmen led 27-08. Meanwhile, in the second game of the day, Sri Lanka Army and Police Sports Club played out a 26-26 draw in Welisara.
Both teams could not be separated after 80 minutes of intense play as the two defence rivals scored four tries apiece.
At the half way mark, Police and the Army had scored three goals each.
Meanwhile, two games will be worked-off tomorrow as the first-round games of the 2019/2020 Inter-Club Rugby League season draw to a close with defending Champions Kandy Sports Club on top of the League Points Table.
