30 March-3 April declared ‘work from home’ period

The government has extended the ‘work from home’ period announced to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Accordingly, the period between Monday the 30th of March to the 3rd of April has been declared as work from home week.
The Director General of the President’s Media Division Mohan Samaranayake in a statement noted that essential services during this period will operate unhindered.
The statement added all state, semi government and private institutions will fall under this directive.
The directive reiterates that this period is not a government declared holiday.
The government also highlighted that maintaining public services continuously is a priority adding that the initiative of the ‘work from home’ period is to ensure self-isolation and prevent large gatherings of people.
The week from the 20th to the 27th of March was also declared a ‘work from home’ period.
