363 Lankans repatriated from UAE & Qatar

363 Sri Lankans, who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar due to coronavirus travel restrictions, were repatriated back to the island today.

Accordingly NewsRadio Airport Correspondent said 349 Lankans from the UAE and 14 from Qatar returned to the country this morning.

The 14 Lankan individuals who landed at the BIA from Qatar are reportedly ship crew members who served on merchant vessels in the country.

Meanwhile 29 Chinese nationals also arrived in the island last night for employment in investment projects in the country.

NewsRadio correspondent said all three groups of arrivals were subjected to PCR tests and directed to undergo quarantine measures.
