The Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s tour of Sri Lanka has been postponed.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were scheduled to play a three-match test series during the tour in July, as part of the ICC World Test Championship.
Sri Lanka Cricket in a statement said the Bangladesh Cricket Board has informed the SLC that a conducive environment has not been created yet for its players to take part in an international cricket series.
The BCB attributed the decision to the lack of preparation for players, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, the two boards agreed to conduct the series on a later day.
Sri Lanka was due to play a full series with England in March before the spike in coronavirus cases brought an unexpected halt to the packed international cricket calendar.
