COVID-19 cases up to 2,631, 14 new patients today

The number of coronavirus cases in the country increased to 2,631 today.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 14 individuals tested positive for the virus today.
The 14 have been identified as persons who associated inmates of the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre.
Meanwhile the Epidemiology Unit today recorded no new coronavirus recoveries.
In its daily report the Epidemiology Unit noted that 639 persons continue to receive in-house treatment for the coronavirus with recoveries at 1,981.
The highest number of COVID-19 cases are being treated at the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre amounting to 365.
64 COVID-19 cases are being treated at the Welikanda Base Hospital, 59 at the National institute of Infectious Diseases, 50 at the Panagoda Army Hospital, 35 at the Kattankudy Base Hospital, 34 at the Iranawila Base Hospital, 15 at the Minuwangoda Base Hospital and three at the Kamburugamuwa District General Hospital.
112 individuals suspected to have contracted the virus are also under observation.
