COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka exceed 91,000

The number of COVID-19 recoveries recorded in the country has exceeded 91,000.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 127 patients were discharged during the past 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 91,044.

18 persons were discharged from the Hambantota District General Hospital, 16 from the Krishnapuram treatment centre in Kilinochchi and 14 from the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile the number of coronavirus infections confirmed in the country increased to 93,993 following the detection of 221 patients yesterday.

2,358 persons are currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 while 363 suspected cases are also under medical observation at present.
