Global COVID-19 cases surpass 30 million

The number of Coronavirus cases recorded globally has surpassed 30 million after 97,405 cases tested positive yesterday.

Accordingly cases recorded around the world have risen to 30,023,523.

Yesterday India’s total coronavirus cases passed 5 million, as the rise was just over 90,000.

With its latest million cases recorded in just 11 days, India now has 5.02 million infections.

Only the United States has more, with 6.59 million.

According to World Health Organization data, the official number of global coronavirus cases is now at least five times the number of severe influenza illnesses recorded annually.

The global death toll now stands at 944,647, after India recorded 1,290 deaths yesterday.
