Global Covid-19 death toll surpasses 18,000

Over 18,000 deaths during the past three months have been linked to the novel coronavirus, globally.
According to latest medical records, 6,820 deaths including 743 during the past 24 hours, have been reported in Italy.
Italy also accounts to 69,176 COVID-19 cases.
China where the novel coronavirus emerged in December 2019, has 81,171 cases and 3,277 deaths.
Spain has confirmed 39,885 cases with 2,808 fatalities.
Iran has confirmed 1,934 deaths linked to COVID-19 while 24,811 cases have also been recorded in the country.
France accounts to 1,100 COVID-19 deaths and 22,304 cases.
Despite drastic measures during the past week, 53,287 coronavirus cases have been recorded in the United States. 689 deaths have also been confirmed in the US.
At least 100 fatalities have been linked to the COVID-19 strain in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and South Korea.
A total of 418,441 coronavirus cases have been reported thus far in 197 countries and territories.
Medical records confirmed 108,323 persons who tested positive for the virus have recovered after receiving medical treatment.
