No domestic cricket in Sri Lanka until further notice

Sri Lanka Cricket has postponed the conduct of all domestic tournaments until further notice as a precautionary measure.
Issuing a statement, SLC said taking into consideration the prevailing COVID-19 Pandemic and the situation in the country, the Tournament Committee of the SLC has decided to postpone the conduct of all domestic tournaments, until further notice.
Earlier this month, the Test series between Sri Lanka and England was also postponed over concerns surrounding COVID-19. Sri Lanka is scheduled to take on South Africa in a limited over series in June.
The 2020 Asia Cup is scheduled to get underway in September while the ICC Twenty20 World Cup is slated to begin in Australia in October.
However, the International Cricket Council has not made any announcement on the conduct of global tournaments, despite other sporting governing bodies announcing the postponement or cancellation of scheduled events.
The international sporting calendar has been severely impacted with the spread of the novel coronavirus which has claimed the lives of at least 11,400 persons across the world.
