Sri Lanka Cricket says the ‘Player Draft’ of the Lanka Premier League has been rescheduled owing to the present coronavirus situation in the country.

The draft was due to be held tomorrow.

The ‘Player Draft’ has been rescheduled for the 19th of October. SLC said it will closely monitor the health situation leading up to the new draft date.

The Lanka Premier League will consist of five franchises, whilst each can buy up to six international players.

SLC shifted the commencement of the LPL, which was scheduled on the 14th of November, to the 21st of November in order to ensure that participating players have adequate time to meet ‘Quarantine Requirements’ as per the Government’s health regulations.
