Several COVID-19 cases recovered & discharged

The Ministry of Health says no new COVID19 cases have been reported in the country as of 4:45pm today.

Speaking at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak Minister Pavithra Devi Wanniarachchi said the number of cases reported in Sri Lanka continues to remain at 102.

She said four patients who were receiving treatment for the coronavirus have since recovered and have been discharged.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health reported that the third individual who contracted the virus recovered and was discharged yesterday.

Earlier this week, a 52-year-old tour guide, the first Sri Lankan to test positive for the virus, was discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.

A Chinese national who received treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases in January also recovered after several weeks of treatment at the IDH.
