Demarcation report sent to the State Printer

The Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils says the final demarcation report has been handed over to the State Printing Cooperation.

Speaking to NewsRadio Secretary of the Ministry Kamal Padmasiri said the State Printer will make an official statement on the gazette once printed.

The printing of the gazette was delayed due to several technical errors in the demarcation report.

However Kamal Padmasiri added all errors were corrected and handed over to the State Printer.

The Secretary said the Tamil language report compiled by the Committee contained close to 500 errors while the English language report contained around 300 errors.

Following the issuance of the gazette of the Final Demarcation Report, the Chairman of the Elections Commission is scheduled to announce his decision pertaining to the Local Government Election.
