AG calls for Trial-at-Bar to hear Eknaligoda case

The Attorney General Dappula de Livera has requested the Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya to appoint a Trial-at-Bar to hear the case filed at the Homagama Magistrate’s Court over the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.
The Coordinating Officer of the Attorney General Nishara Jayaratne said the Attorney General called for the three member bench owing to the attention the case has drawn both locally and internationally.
Prageeth Eknaligoda was reported missing nine years ago.
His disappearance was reported on the 24th of January a day before the conduct of the Presidential Election in 2010.
