Conspiracy underway to disrupt Vesak festival?

Speaker of House Karu Jayasuriya says there is a conspiracy to disrupt the Vesak festival in the country.
Speaking to media in Kandy, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya noted that the public should celebrate the Vesak festival as the country has returned to normalcy.
The Speaker noted the recent violent mob attacks can result in huge losses in future.
Speaker Jayasuriya stressed he was disheartened to see banners at some temples due to the influence of some parties stating that the Vesak festival would not be held adding there is a possibility of the a hidden plot.
Speaker of House Karu Jayasuriya also said a request will be made to appoint a Presidential Commission to ensure the country’s safety and to maintain peace among communities.
The Speaker claimed he held discussions with other Parliament Select Committee members and reached a decision to establish a Presidential Commission like during the youth uprisings in 1989 in order to find facts on recent attacks, and to prevent such incidents recurring in future and also to safeguard the unity between Sinhalese and Muslims.
