COVID-19 recoveries increase to 3,088

The number of persons who recovered after contracting COVID-19 in the country has risen to 3,088.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 18 persons, including three foreign nationals were discharged during the past 24 hours.
Accordingly nine persons each were discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and the Welikanda Base Hospital.
The number of coronavirus cases confirmed in Sri Lanka is currently at 3,283 after the detection of two patients yesterday.
The Government Information Department said a sea marshal who arrived from the Middle East and an arrival from the United States tested positive for COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health said 182 persons, including nine foreign nationals, are currently receiving medical treatment for COVID-19 at five hospitals.
33 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
