Global COVID-19 death toll exceeds 600,000

The worldwide death toll due to the novel coronavirus has exceeded 600,000 since the outbreak first emerged in China last December.

According to latest medical figures at least 600,132 people have died with COVID-19. 14,221,399 cases of coronavirus have also been registered in 200 countries and territories.

Of these, at least 8,490,646 have recovered.

The United States is the worst-hit country with 142,065 deaths from 3,770,138 cases.

After the US, the hardest-hit countries are Brazil with 77,964 deaths from two million cases, the United Kingdom with 45,233 deaths Mexico with 38,310 deaths and Italy with 35,028 fatalities.
