The National Cricket Team left the island this morning to Bangladesh to take part in a three-match ODI series.
The squad led by Kusal Janith Perera left the Katunayake International Airport during the early hours of the day.
Speaking to media before the departure, Skipper Perera said he has a young unit but is hoping to do well in Bangladesh during the three-match series.
He will be assisted by Kusal Mendis during the tour after national selectors left out several seniors in a bid to prepare for the 2023 World Cup.
Sri Lanka Cricket said the tour will get underway with an Intra-squad practice game on the 21st of this month.
The ODIs will be played on the 23rd, 25th and 28th of May at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is part of the International Cricket Council’s Super League tournament.
The national team will depart Bangladesh on the 29th of May.
