Lahiru Kumara tests positive for COVID-19

Paceman Lahiru Kumara has tested positive for COVID-19 on the eve of the tour of West Indies.
Sri Lanka Cricket issuing a statement confirmed that Lahiru Kumara tested positive for the coronavirus following PCR tests carried out on the squad that was nominated to take part in the Test series against the West Indies. Kumara underwent a PCR test yesterday.
SLC said immediately upon the positive test result, Lahiru Kumara was directed to undergo government’s approved health protocol pertaining to COVID-19.
Sri Lanka Cricket claimed it will continue normal operations, while adhering to stipulated health protocol.
Previously, head coach Mickey Arthur and Lahiru Thirimanne tested positive for COVID-19. They were directed to isolate following the development.
The national team is due to leave for West Indies tomorrow. However, the final touring party has not been named thus far.
During the West Indies tour, Sri Lanka will play three T20Is, three one day Internationals and two Test matches, under a bio-secure environment in Antigua from the 3rd of March to the 2nd of April.
