MP Ranawaka to contest the travel ban

General Secretary of the Jathika Hela Urumaya Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka says he will contest the travel ban imposed on him by Court.
Speaking at a media briefing MP Ranawaka said he will resort to steps to provide relevant facts to the National Police Commission on the investigations that have reopened over a case related to an accident reported in Rajagiriya in 2016.
The Parliamentarian noted he believes the Criminal Investigations Department will conduct an independent investigation into the incident adding he does not fear being subject to political vengeance.
Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka and one of his drivers were issued an overseas travel ban by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva yesterday after taking into consideration details produced in Court by the Colombo Crimes Division over an accident reported on the 28th of February 2016 in Rajagiriya.
NewsRadio Court correspondent said the CCD informed Court that a comprehensive investigation has once again been launched into the accident that resulted in critical injuries to a youth.
