School students to get uniform material again

The Cabinet of Ministers has reached a decision to provide material for students’ uniforms, instead of providing vouchers, from next year.
The decision was reached during yesterday’s Cabinet meeting held under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Speaking to media following the Cabinet meeting, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said with regards to school uniforms the President had visited relevant factories and reached a decision to allow local manufacturers to produce uniforms.
Minister CB Rathnayake also speaking to media said a discussion was held pertaining to providing readymade uniforms from next year.
The Cabinet also reached a decision to appoint a committee to compile a report pertaining to the proposal to impose a ban on slaughtering of cattle in the country.
