The Secretary to the Ministry of Sports and the Competent Authority of Sri Lanka Cricket, Chulananda Perera says he is prepared to hold discussions with the International Cricket Council, if the planned SLC election was delayed through judicial processes.
Several individuals have recently threatened to take legal action against the rejection of nomination papers.
Secretary Chulananda Perera said all factions have the right to appeal against the rejection of nomination papers or to initiate legal proceedings.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Sports Ministry premises today, Secretary Chulananda Perera said the Ministry is also prepared to present its submissions before courts if necessary.
However the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports said he is expecting the conduct of the SLC election as planned on the 21st of this month.
He said if the election was postponed once again, discussions will be held with the ICC to take the matter forward.
Meanwhile, last week, the Ministry of Sports said the nominations filed by former Sri Lanka Cricket President Mohan Silva and former Assistant Secretary Ravin Wickramaratne were rejected by the Appeals Committee appointed to ratify SLC election nominations.
