Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 tally increases to 97,105

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has risen to 97,105 following the detection of 309 patients yesterday.
Among yesterday’s cases 282 were identified as contacts of the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster.
Nine cases were also identified from prisons across the country.
Accordingly, the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster has increased to 91,634.
18 persons who arrived in the country recently from overseas also tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 3,111 persons are currently receiving treatment for coronavirus at several facilities across the country.
Yesterday, 261 persons who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 93,374.
604 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.
