Wheat flour companies revert decision on price hike

Wheat flour companies have consented to reverting a recent decision pertaining to increasing wheat flour prices with immediate effect.
Minister of Agriculture P Harrison said the decision was reached during a meeting of the Cost of Living Committee.
Minister Harrison said the wheat flour companies were granted a three-week period to show cause notice pertaining to the decision behind increasing wheat flour prices.
Wheat flour companies on the 6th of September decided to increase the price of a kilogram of Prima wheat flour by Rs.5.50.
The Consumer Affairs Authority however at had not approved the increase in wheat flour prices.
