Only 15 COVID-19 cases in Kegalle

Temporary travel restrictions that were imposed on residents of several villages in Rambukkana, Kegalle have been lifted.

Following the detection of coronavirus cases in recent days, travel restrictions were imposed on residents of five villages in Rambukkana.

Speaking to NewsRadio, Kegalle District Secretary Mahinda Weerasuriya said a decision was taken to lift all travel restrictions following discussions held with health and security officials today.

Authorities have confirmed that only 15 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the Kegalle district following the emergence of the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster.
