The Consumer Affairs Authority says 154 raids were carried out to identify persons selling rice at higher prices while 56 raids have been carried out to identify persons selling coconuts above the control price.
The Authority issued a gazette notification on the 28th of September, imposing a control price on coconuts.
The decision was reached owing to coconuts being sold at various prices in the market.
Island wide raids were carried out following reports that the benefit of the reduced prices are not being granted to the public.
