18 more to be released from quarantine centres

Another 18 persons who completed the mandatory quarantine procedure at four centres maintained by the Tri-Forces will be released to return to their residences today.

The National Operation Centre for Prevention Of COVID-19 said accordingly 43,849 persons have thus far completed the mandatory quarantine procedure at dedicated centres while 6,626 individuals continue to remain at 66 quarantine facilities.

Meanwhile, 290 Sri Lankans returned to the island from Abu Dhabi this morning.

The Centre for Prevention Of COVID-19 said all arrivals were tested for coronavirus and were directed to quarantine.

Meanwhile, another group is expected to arrive in the island from India this afternoon. They will also be tested for coronavirus upon their arrivals and directed to quarantine.
