1,978 vacancies for Principals to be filled

Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has instructed officials to promptly complete 1,978 vacancies of Principals at state schools.
The Ministry of Education said instructions were issued to conduct interviews from the end of July and to select the highest scoring candidates for the role of Principal, from those who were recruited following the examination held on the 10th of February.
3,881 who faced the exam have been selected for interviews.
The Ministry of Education on a separate note said the provision of the Suraksha Student Insurance scheme has been fast-tracked.
The Ministry said Rs.533 million has been granted to a total of 11,742 students.
