United Peoples Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena says the 19th Constitutional amendment will be revised if the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna secures majority power in a future election.
Speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today the MP said he now regrets voting in favour of the 19th amendment.
The Parliamentarian noted the public and Parliamentarians are unaware of the content as it is unclear.
He stressed if the Court did not grant the Executive powers to the President there is a possibility of him being imprisoned adding therefore the best solution is to provide a mandate for the UPFA through an election to terminate the 19th Constitutional amendment and govern the country successfully for another 10 to 15 years.
