21 complaints against Rishad, Salley & Hizbullah

A total of 21 complaints including 11 against Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen have been lodged in relation to the Easter Sunday Attacks with the Special Committee established at the Police Headquarters.

The time frame granted to file complaints against former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and former Governors MLAM Hizbullah and Azath Salley to the committee concluded today.

Police Media Spokesperson Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekera said as of 3pm today, a total of 11 complaints had been filed against former Minister Bathiudeen and five against former Western Province Governor Azath Salley.

Two separate complaints have also been filed against Former Eastern Province Governor MLAM Hizbullah.

He said the complaints will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Department for deliberation. The committee comprising of a Senior Superintendent of Police and two other SPs was appointed on the 4th of June to accept complaints against the trio over the Easter Sunday Attacks.
