Minuwangoda Cluster: 259 new cases identified

259 new COVID-19 cases linked to the Minuwangoda cluster have been identified.

Accordingly, the Minuwangoda COVID-19 cluster has risen to 2,817.

The Department of Government Information said new infections include, 182 linked to the Peliyagoda fish market, 75 close contacts of Minuwangoda apparel factory cases and two from quarantine centres. Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 tally also increased to 6,287.

Earlier 60 individuals infected with the coronavirus recovered and were discharged raising COVID-19 recoveries to 3,561.

Accordingly, 2,712 COVID-19 patients including 14 foreign nationals are currently receiving medical treatment for coronavirus at 23 hospitals across the country.

341 suspected coronavirus cases are also under medical observation.
