342 COVID-19 positive; cases rise to 21,811

342 COVID-19 cases have been detected in Sri Lanka thus far today.

The number of infections in the country accordingly increases to 21,811.

All 342 were identified as contacts of the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda coronavirus cluster.

Accordingly, the number of active COVID-19 cases increase to 5,899.

369 individuals who contracted the novel coronavirus were earlier discharged after recovering.

The Epidemiology Unit said the number of recoveries accordingly rose to 15,816.

11 foreign nationals are also being treated for COVID-19. 650 suspected cases remain under medical observation.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll is at 96.
