350 new COVID-19 cases detected today

Another 350 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in the country today, increasing the total number of confirmed infections to 24,882.

The Government Information Department said all new cases are linked to the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster.

Accordingly, at least 21,333 coronavirus cases have been identified during the second COVID-19 wave in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, earlier today the number of coronavirus recoveries rose to 18,304 after 487 individuals were discharged from hospitals.

Accordingly, The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 6,456 COVID-19 patients are currently receiving treatment at 55 facilities across the country.

620 persons suspected to have contracted the novel coronavirus are also under observation.
